Recommendations of the GATOM project

The project resulted in the development of a series of recommendations aimed at national/regional governments and adult education/training providers.

These recommendations highlighted the changes in training policy and provision necessary to smoothen the path of labour market participants who wish to change occupations. They focus on issues such as information provision, the development of common quality standards for adult education/training providers and the provision of structures to recognise formally and informally gained skills/experience.

The recommendations also address the need for more flexible career guidance and the the development of training provision in a format that takes cognisance of the specific needs of occupational changers.
